In the face of the biting winter cold and snow, accompanied by the chilling wind, deciduous trees shed off their leaves. These trees appear dead, dry, and defeated like the ones I see in the park each time I open my windows in the winter mornings. These were trees that blossomed in summer few months ago. They were filled with green leaves, displaying life. Everything around them seemed gay and perfect. But not any more ! The winter wind has arrived, all the leaves are quickly losing their colour, yes they have turned brown, and are cowardly falling off because the bitting cold won’t allow them hold firm to the trees any longer. Their state looks pitiable and hopeless !
But just wait a minute ! Don’t be too fast to conclude because Springtime is by the corner. The clock ticks so fast. Those seemingly dead and dry trees will glowingly come up alive again. Yes they will, looking beautiful and all! This is life ! Such is life for those that believe. The book of Micah chapter 7:8 clearly states « Do not rejoice over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will stand up; though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light».
Are you among the people who couldn’t find a place to hide their shame because a certain season appeared in your life and the centre cannot hold any more ? And all you do is salivate about your yester years, while you watch the green leaves of your life turn brown and shed off because of the bitting cold ? You are lost in confusion, wondering how and why it got this bad, and when and how you will come out of the mess ?
Just a word for you about the WHEN- « the spring will soon be here » So don’t worry, it’s a phase, it’s a season, and you will bloom again ! Though you have fallen, you will stand up, though you sit in darkness, the Lord will be your light ! And about the HOW – Allow Jesus to do it. Just hand over the lordship of your life to Him, for He’s the master of the time and seasons. Do it now and thank me later !
