Did you know that you can still keep your peace if you want to, despite what is happening to you? That you can either allow your present unpalatable situation weigh you down, or shove it off, knowing fully well that His eyes are on the sparrows, and He cares for you? That you can go on sulking and brooding over past losses and mistakes, or move ahead knowing that His thoughts for you are for good, thus casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you? That you can decide how your day will be, though it may seem a rainy day. To either allow the strain and stress of life becloud your sky, or pick up a paint, draw a colourful rainbow and a beautiful sunshine in your sky yourself. That you can choose to laugh hard and give a disarming smile to thoughtless remarks and criticisms? That you can either allow the wrinkles of discouragement and grim expressions portray the battles and fear inside, or a serene grin-and-bear it outlook that exposes the peaceful and calm spirit within………
Did you know that greatness is not only rated by how much victories you gained at a given time, but also your ability to conserve it over time, nor is failure graded by the number of times you failed, but the inability to rise? Did you also know that you can maximize your potentials no matter how insignificant you think they are, and that you can be an inspiration to someone depending on how you manage your challenges, knowing fully well that challenges are the test of a true and lasting success? And that you can either blow that little spark in you into a flame, or despise it and allow it to die off?
Did you know that your physical appearance and size are not the real parameters to triumph in the battles of life? Else why didn’t giant Goliath, a warlord, swallow up David, a young shepherd boy? And that age is not a sure ticket to career success? Otherwise, why didn’t Ahab win in sound leadership and political proficiency when compared with the young king Josiah? That one’s societal status and background are not the sole deciding factor in successorship? Else why didn’t Hophni and Phinehas succeed the priestly office in the place of their father, Eli, instead of Samuel, an Ephraimite? And why didn’t the royal nestlings of Egypt assume the office of the prime minister in the days of Joseph, the Hebrew slave?
Did you know that you can be just all you need to be, if only you let Jesus be the sole captain of your boat, the chief corner stone of your life, and the core base on which your aspirations are formed? If and only if you can lend Him your whole self so that He can look and see through your eyes the only things which you need to look upon and see. Just let Him speak through your mouth the only things that you need to speak, and feel through the touch of your hands the only thing you need to touch and feel. If you let Him walk through your legs the only places He wants you to go, and love through your heart the only things you should love, you will certainly be all you need to be? Did you really know that?
